Message from the Head of Department

Dear Students of the Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, first of al, welcome to the Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation at Nişantaşı University. Rehabilitation, one of the most important components of the healthcare system, is a field in which you will directly touch the lives of your patients and their families. You will make invaluable contributions as patients who have suffered pain for long periods, experienced restricted function, reduced quality of life, and adversely affected social lives learn to cope with these problems. You will be present when a person walks again, when a child holds a colored pencil, throughout a mother's pregnancy, when an athlete returns to the field, when an older adult performs daily activities, and in every other area you can imagine. By planning work not only with people whose health has deteriorated but also with healthy individuals, you will play an active role in protecting public health.

To fulfill these roles, you must learn the fundamental knowledge of the field thoroughly and reinforce this knowledge through applied courses. Our greatest aim is to educate excellent physiotherapists who adhere to ethical principles, possess evidence-based clinical skills, and serve patients with respect and compassion; to guide you in these areas throughout your education; and to help you begin your professional lives one step ahead through the technological facilities and accomplished academic staff of the NeoTech Campus. We are pleased to support you in al your educational needs.

Our Vision

Our aim is to contribute to the body of scientific knowledge in our field through national and international research, achieve scientific success at national and international levels, keep our students' education current and aligned with levels of evidence by following scientific developments, and use scientific advances for the benefit of society.

The vision of the Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation at Nişantaşı University Faculty of Health Sciences is to educate nationaly and internationaly competent physiotherapists who are proud to be graduates of the department and who lead the improvement of individual, family, and community health through an approach based on sustainable excellence and an innovative institutional culture for a strong future in healthcare.

Aim of the Department

Program Educational Objectives

PEA1. Organizes and conducts projects, seminars, training programs, and similar activities that contribute to society in relation to the field.

PEA2. Plans and manages activities to support the development of team members under their responsibility in projects related to the field.

PEA3. Conducts an advanced study related to the field independently.

PEA4. Possesses the skills required to solve complex and unpredictable problems encountered in field-related practice and assumes responsibility as a member of a multidisciplinary team.

PEA5. Collects, interprets, and evaluates data related to Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation by using advanced knowledge and skills and communicates the results. Identifies and analyzes problems in light of the data and develops evidence-based solutions.

PEA6. Follows innovations related to assigned responsibilities, including the application of physiotherapy and rehabilitation modalities and techniques, and integrates them into professional processes.

PEA7. Criticaly evaluates the advanced knowledge and skills acquired in the field, identifies learning needs, and addresses them.

Program Learning Outcomes

1) Conducts the assessment, identification, and planning required for physiotherapy and rehabilitation practices while ensuring patient and employee safety.
2) Acts with professional knowledge, skills, and attitudes while working as a physiotherapist.
3) Reorganizes professional knowledge and skills to solve complex and unpredictable problems encountered in practice.
4) Collaborates as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
5) Embraces professional ethical principles and values.
6) Participates in every stage of scientific research conducted in the field of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation.
7) Supports the organization of activities related to Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation that contribute to society.
8) Follows current and technological developments related to Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation.
9) Uses a foreign language at least at the B1 General Level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
10) Values lifelong learning.
